Butler Rubin Announces Office Move to 321 N. Clark in April 2016

CHICAGO, August 10, 2015 –Chicago’s Butler Rubin Saltarelli & Boyd LLP has signed an 11-year lease for 26,000 square feet to move its offices to 321 N. Clark at Riverfront Plaza in April 2016. The firm, with more than 60 employees, has been in its current offices at 70 West Madison since 1983. Peter Livaditis, Kyle Kamin and Jon Milonas of CBRE Group, Inc. represented Butler Rubin in the real estate transaction.

“The move provides us with an excellent location, competitive cost structure and the ability to move from our 2 floors to a single floor that will promote more collaboration among our lawyers and staff,” said Partner Robert Hermes. “We are excited to have a long-term lease after recently celebrating our 35th anniversary as a litigation boutique.” The firm will occupy the building’s 4th floor, which features one-sized offices within a glass tower with views of the Chicago River and the River North neighborhood.

The firm’s new office space allowed it to customize its layout and create features such as client-engagement areas, a café overlooking the Chicago River for employees, re-designed “war” rooms for litigation preparation and cutting edge technology that will allow the firm to better serve client needs.

Originally founded as Ronald Butler, Ltd. on June 1, 1980, Butler Rubin has remained true to its original founding mission: to be a boutique litigation firm where the needs of clients serve as the guiding force, where a smaller environment promotes demonstrated teamwork and true collaboration, and where lawyers feel confident in a welcoming culture that always looks for new and more efficient ways to partner with clients.

As a joint venture partner, Hines acquired the property in April 2001. The building, designed by architects Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, is Energy Star certified and LEED Gold. Major tenants include the American Bar Association, Foley & Lardner and Littler Mendelson.
