Butler Rubin Hires Intern from Tutor/Mentor Program

CHICAGO, August 17, 2016 – Chicago-based law firm Butler Rubin Saltarelli & Boyd LLP, a long-time supporter of South Chicago’s Centro Communitario Juan Diego, employed Anette Gonzalez as its sixth summer intern from the program it began in part to inspire other law firms, legal departments and legal providers to give kids from tutor/mentor programs the opportunity to work in an office for the summer.  Gonzalez has been involved in the Centro Communitario program for many years, serving as a mentor and tutor herself to younger children in the program.

In 2008, Butler Rubin was named “Law Firm of the Year” by the Lawyer’s Lend-A-Hand to Youth Program for its sponsorship of Centro Communitario Juan Diego.

Centro Communitario Juan Diego has been making a difference in South Chicago for more than 20 years. The Center was founded by eight Latina women who had the courage to start an organization to help their community despite their own hardships. As a grassroots community based organization, CCJD operates many vital programs focused on healthcare issues, community organizing, social services and family education.   For more information, visit www.ccjuandiego.org.
