Butler Rubin Recognized For Justice Center Donation

Butler Rubin Partner and Pro Bono Director Jim Morsch was quoted in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin on Thursday, January 26, 2012 and the firm was recognized for its ongoing support of the Heartland Alliance’s National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC).   The firm provided a $10,000 donation to NIJC and also handles cases for the organization on a pro bono basis.  Jim is a member of NIJC’s Leadership Board and assisted in developing its Annual Fund challenge program whereby law firms agree to match the contributions made by NIJC’s volunteer lawyers.  The NIJC received a record amount in financial donations from its pro bono attorneys during 2011, the initial year of the challenge.  ”We believe in the organization’s mission,” said Jim, who works closely with Mary Meg McCarthy, the organization’s executive director.  Jim hopes other law firms and corporations will sign on to the challenge program and, ultimately, that all of the pro bono attorneys who handle NIJC cases will commit to making annual financial contributions to the program.
