Butler Rubin Sponsors Summit on Curbing the Violence in Chicago

CHICAGO, May 16, 2017 – Butler Rubin is a sponsor of The Chicago Bar Association’s Summit:  “A Path Towards Solutions: Curbing the Violence in Chicago” on Friday, May 19th at the Chicago Standard Club.  The Chicago Bar Association is committed to finding long term solutions to the gun violence in Chicago.

The Summit will feature local and national speakers who will discuss gun violence and solutions that have and have not worked in other major cities. Panelists will also discuss ways to improve the relationship between law enforcement and the community, legislative initiatives, and the impact of media and social media on violence in Chicago.  Speakers include:  Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson, Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, Cook County Public Defender Amy Campanelli, Sean Malinowski the Chief of Staff to Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck, Rev. Michael L. Pfleger, Rev. Dr. Walter Johnson, Community Activist Andrew Holmes, and others.  Ronal Serpas, Chair of the International Association of Chiefs of Police Community Policing Committee, is the keynote luncheon speaker.
