Debra K. Lefler Joins Butler Rubin As An Associate

CHICAGO, January 26, 2015 – Debra K. Lefler has joined the Chicago law firm Butler Rubin Saltarelli & Boyd LLP as an associate, concentrating her practice in complex commercial litigation.

Lefler began her career as a litigation associate in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP.  At Kirkland, she gained broad experience in matters involving breach of contract, consumer fraud, mass tort, employment discrimination, and antitrust.  She also represented pro bono clients in a successful high-profile federal court challenge to a discriminatory state law.  Lefler served as a judicial extern for the Hon. Richard D. Cudahy, U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

Lefler received her law degree, cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law, where she was Executive Editor of the Northwestern University Law Review.  A graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz, Lefler received her undergraduate degree in English, with highest honors, and in Political Science, with honors, and was named Phi Beta Kappa.  Before attending law school, she earned an M.A. in English from the University of Chicago.
