Ursula Taylor to Speak on Risk Adjustment

CHICAGO, November 7, 2017 – Butler Rubin partner Ursula Taylor has been invited to speak at AHLA’s Institute for Health Plan Counsel on November 14, 2017 in Chicago. Taylor and her co-presenters, Dorothy DeAngelis, Managing Director at Navigant, and Lauren Haley, Member at Strategic Health Law, will be discussing “Lessons and Tools for Successfully Navigating Medicare Risk Adjustment.”  They will be examining risk adjustment for Medicare Advantage and the False Claims Act lawsuits.

  • Discussion of False Claims Act liability for alleged risk adjustment overpayments, including discussion of Swoben, Poehling and Graves whistleblower lawsuits

  • Internal audit strategies to review risk adjustment processes and risk score reporting

Taylor is a litigator and advisor experienced in representing and counseling clients with respect to actual or potential disputes in the areas of healthcare, insurance, reinsurance. She possess an in depth understanding of the new and emerging issues arising under the Affordable Care Act, including the premium stabilization mechanisms and the risks and impacts on health insurance companies. Within healthcare, Taylor has litigated claims for breach of fiduciary duty and breach of contract and advised and represented clients in connection with affirmative recoveries following False Claims Act liabilities. Taylor graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A., high distinction, and Northwestern University School of Law, cum laude.
