Community Service
Individually and as a firm, Butler Rubin is active in and around the communities we serve. Butler Rubin is a financial supporter of numerous charitable organizations, such as Chicago’s Sun-Times/Judge Marovitz Lawyers Lend-A-Hand to Youth Program, which is a tutoring program for underprivileged youths, and the Centro Comunitario Juan Diego, which provides health, mentoring and other services to homeless and other underprivileged families on the Southside of Chicago. The firm was introduced to the Juan Diego Center through Lawyers Lend-A-Hand to Youth in 2004 and has since adopted the center. In July 2008, Lawyers Lend-A-Hand to Youth named Butler Rubin as the recipient of its 2008 Law Firm Partner of the Year Award for its contributions to the Juan Diego Center. Lawyers Lend-A-Hand to Youth annually presents this award to a law firm that has made a significant difference to a tutor/mentor program.
In 2009, Butler Rubin Pro Bono Partner James Morsch was awarded the Midwest Light of Human Rights Award by Heartland Alliance’s National Immigrant Justice Center. And, he was awarded the 2011 Barristers Philanthropic Award by Lawyers Lend-A-Hand to Youth.
We are committed to giving back through our time, activities and frequent donations to worthy causes. Community service of all kinds is encouraged at Butler Rubin and at all levels. Partners, associates and staff participate in a number of individual and firm wide initiatives including:
